All our instruments are crafted from top quality musical tone woods.
We are known for the decorative beauty of our works but we never forget that
the most important aspect of a musical instrument is it's sound. We spend hours
choosing the correct woods and then working with these woods to bring out their finest
possible tone.
All our banjos are equipped with
the Whyte Laydie tone ring. We feel that this ring produces the best warm old
time sound while still giving the banjo a lot of volume. This tone ring cost
more than others but we think you'll agree the amazing sound is worth it. We use three ply
maple rims and curly
maple necks on our banjos. The fingerboards are ebony as are the peg head
veneers and heel caps. Inlays on the fingerboard and peg head are done in mother
of pearl and abalone.
We exclusively use solid Sitka spruce and solid walnut
tone woods in the crafting of our dulcimers. Walnut
has the hardness and density necessary to project the sound while Sitka spruce
is a strong, highly responsive wood used in many quality instrument tops for its
fine tonal characteristics.
We also make what have been called the greatest musical
spoons on the market. Our spoons are hand carved from one piece of musical
tone wood. We offer them in mahogany and walnut. We also offer stainless
steel musical spoons with a handle comprised of strips of walnut, mahogany and
cherry.
Another wonderful rhythm instrument we offer is the musical
washboard. Our washboards are made with a stainless steel rub area just
like you find in quality Cajun rub boards. We add a bell and a can for
percussive variation.
