Triplet
Exercises
Having learned a scale using exercises with 4/4 timing, additional benefit can be gotten from doing triplet
exercises. In a triplet exercise, each note in the scale is an eighth note
triplet. Devising exercises that makes rhythmic sense is important. One can
experiment to find scale sequences that “feel right”. For Open Position
exercises, using an exercise that consists of 19 notes is suggested: Triplet Scale in G - from
